Indian nationals get a slap on the head in Pattaya

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Several Pattaya locals have accused some motorcyclists and pillion riders of slapping Indian visitors’ heads as they ride past them.

Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage was posted online showing motorcyclists and their pillion riders frequently speeding towards Indians to slap their heads in Pattaya, Chon Buri province. Complainants said that such attackers were young men on motorcycles, and some wore school uniforms. They targeted Indians late at night.

Indian businessman Santa Singh, 58, said on Wednesday afternoon that such incidents had happened several times over the past week on Pattaya 2 Road leading to Phra Tamnak hill.

According to Mr Singh, the latest incident happened at 10.58pm on Tuesday when two men in their 20s rode a motorcycle towards some Indian nationals. The pillion rider then slapped one Indian's head hard before escaping.

A 28-year-old Thai masseuse who identified herself as Nat said that she saw a pillion rider slapping the heads of Indian people indiscriminately along Soi VC Road and that she scolded the attacker.

Thais have a saying, 'when u come to an indian or a cobra on the road
Kill the indian first
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

The thing about Indians is that you can never slap them hard enough. What are they hoping to achieve? You can't slap sense into an Indian.

Indian tourists, like those involved in the recent incident on Pattaya Beach, have occasionally been the focus of criticism due to public behavior such as littering and urinating in public spaces. While tourism in Pattaya is diverse, with visitors from various countries, these actions by some Indian tourists have sparked concern among local residents and the Thai public.

The issue of public urination and littering is often associated with a lack of awareness or disrespect for local norms and public hygiene, which can sometimes be more prevalent among certain tourist groups who are unfamiliar with the cultural expectations in Thailand. However, it is important to note that such behavior is not exclusive to any nationality and can be seen in tourists from various countries, especially in popular tourist destinations.
