Pailin: In February and March, there were a lot of reports from Community member and local authority about the wild life crime in the conservative forest located in Ou Tarouv district and Bor Yacar district, Pailin province.

They reported that some wild animals in the conservative forest are almost nonexistence such as meerkats, snake, wild pig, snake, deer etc, as some polices hunted them for food and also sold them to the wild animal trafficker who will trade them with the restaurant owners in Pailin city which serve wild animal dishes.

They [community member and local authority] also added that, for a long time ago, the wild life crime has never ended as some officers who were suppose to protect the animals from being hunted and trafficked, but they committed it by themselves. When their commander ordered to protect the forest, they do logging and when their commander ordered them to protect wild animals; they hunted them for food and also sold them to the illegal wild animal traffickers.
