Trump considers economic force to aquire Canada, military force to aquire Panama and Greenland

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

Alex wrote: Thu Jan 09, 2025 4:31 pm I've always believed that having Canada as a separate country doesn't make any sense, it creates many unnecessary inefficiencies and they're basically the same people. So for once I find myself in agreement with the incoming president, hopefully a deal can be made. What a superb country that could be!

An added benefit (and a bit ironic of course) would be that draft dodgers wouldn't be able to use Canada as a hiding place any longer.
I've known lots of Canadians, Canada comes across as a saner version of the US to me.

I'm not having a go at Americans here, but If you were Canadian, why would you want to be part of a country that is perpetually at war, is run by religious nutters, corporations and billionaires, has a mass shooting every day, and where you could lose everything if you need hospital treatment?
Everything you say is true, but it will be either that or China invading lol.

A further bit of irony would be chosing an avatar that would preclude one from serving in the military. Sir James Brooke was a homosexual pedophile and would have been defferred from serving in the US Army if not languishing in prison.

"Among his alleged relationships was the one with Badruddin, a Sarawak prince, of whom he wrote, "my love for him was deeper than anyone I knew."
"Later, in 1848, Brooke is alleged to have formed a relationship with 16‑year‑old Charles T. C. Grant, grandson of the seventh Earl of Elgin, who supposedly 'reciprocated"

"One of Brooke's recent biographers wrote that as Brooke spent his final years in Burrator in Devon "there is little doubt ... he was carnally involved with the rough trade of Totnes."

The gentleman also suffered 5 strokes in his later years and had the cognitive ability of a potato in the end.

I am not suggesting the choice of Sir James as an avatar is anything more than a coincidence but some may feel that it is a well thought out ruse to avoid military service. I would dismiss this given the "well thought out" part would definitely be an anomaly given your posts

@Bluejeanbaby, what is the relevance of your above post?

Attacking members is trolling.
Your posting history is mainly on US politics.
Have you ever posted about Cambodia? Lived in Cambodia? Been to Cambodia?

I apologize, I drifted into a connection instead of staying on topic. Yes I have started a number of threads involving Cambodia and 7 or 8 new threads of SE Asia news.

No , I have never lived in Cambodia. Yes, I have been to Cambodia likely 25 times over the dozen years.

I will stay more focused in the future

Drugs are cheaper
Better retirement options ( government gives you $$ even if u did not work the 10 years America requires)
Longer maternity leave in Canada
Canadian schools are better (and safer)
Universities are less $$

I cant imagine why ANY Canadian would want to be an American
I was looking at your first three things Richard and wondering what country you were making a point for:

Health Care in Canada is horrendous in every way and in complete shambles. Even the infrastructure is way behind.
A large part of the population cannot find a family Doctor, wait times are months or years.

For those sharing this opinion please think twice before settling in Cambodia. Maybe it's not the promised land for those.

I'm not expecting Cambodia's health care to match Canada's - but the irony is that my stay in a Cambodian hospital for several days was nicer by far - and by a large margin - than my hospital stay in Canada. Thank god I had insurance though - but even if I didn't I would have been easily able to afford the bill.

Also, if you have money you can get good care - very good care, in close proximity - and you don't have to wait.

You could not make this shit up.

The Greenland leader cancelled his meeting with the Danish king, but he is not a political figure so make of it as you wish.
