Oh, are you there and not here?YanSamuth wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 8:41 amYou know what's even more reliable than a Toyota? Apparently, Subaru has topped Toyota as the most reliable vehicle on the market.
If I really had to, I would add Toyota RAV4 and Honda CRV to round off my Top 5. I'm worried about parking in a municipal lot if I were to get the CRV tho because apparently the 2018 Honda CR-V is the #1 stolen vehicle in Canada.
In that case, I have no idea.
Incidentally, all cars made in the USA from the top five manufactures have a bad reputation for reliability and manufacturing standards.

It's a bargain if it were in Thailand with 100,000 km more kilometers on it. The w204 is the most reliable c series Mercedes to date.

wrt tax, a guy I know told me a common workaround is to disassemble the thing, import it in boxes marked as spares, and reassemble her. H epaid $3K for a brand new Prius this way. However, a Prius and Merc reassambly obviously require different skills

If you can't proof importing it with tax papers you can't apply for a license plate. I wonder how he worked around that.total nutter wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 10:21 am wrt tax, a guy I know told me a common workaround is to disassemble the thing, import it in boxes marked as spares, and reassemble her. What did the $3K cover exactly?total nutter wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 10:21 am wrt tax, a guy I know told me a common workaround is to disassemble the thing, import it in boxes marked as spares, and reassemble her. Sounds like a "bloke down the pub" BS. $3k for a brand new car!
Connected locals do not need to mess around with all that bollocks, they just import complete cars and pay some tea money, some get it bit of a discount. Same if I wanted to import a car, I would pay shit load more than an established car dealer here.
