As one wrote before: buy a new battery on Ali and bring it to the next best phone repair shop. Problem solved for the next few years
Hint: Always use "AliExpress Standard Shipping", nothing else and you can be sure you get your stuff
Driving on Cambodian roads is just like playing a classic arcade top scroller. The only difference is a force feedback controller, the limitation to one life only and the inability to restart, once Game Over

Small light, good for sunny days. Comes with whispernet - built in 3G for downloading books (books are almost nothing on bandwidth) - free. Now expanded to a reader for dark rooms, journaling tool, becoming a jack of all things. All at the cost of increasing price, weight, battery life, requiring dedicated WiFi, etc.

Amazon started off as the world’s largest bookseller.

I’ve read this several times - and I still don’t know if you are praising kindles or critizing them…
It reads like one of the early AI iterations. The response is kind of related to the question but odd and a tad confusing

Original question was looking for a replacement Kindle. Then branched out into a discussion of the benefits of Kindles vs Tablets as portable devices.

This is just my impression of what a Kindle is. Over the years, I’ve owned Kindles. I owned tablets. iPad, iPad Pro, Samsung Tablet, Amazon Tablet. Kindles are not the same as Tablets.

Then there’s device creep.

Take helmets, for example.
Originally designed to protect your head.
Some now integrated to have GPS IR Thermal Laser designators with rangefinders on a virtual display. All with map overlays and communication and coordination with everyone else.

AI is logical and methodical. I am not and never will be. That’s why I need missus.

Dude, do you even know one person who has a helmet like that, outside of the air force? :?

I have a Kindle that someone gave me, but I haven't much used it because I've always got my phone with me and I like reading on that.

1. I can enlarge the font size (on epubs), and also read most pdfs without much bother.

2. I've set it to scroll down instead of having to turn a page.

3, As I'm online I can easily search for words I don't know, images of things, or get clarifications from chatGPT.

4. I've tried different third party reading apps, but prefer the default 'Books' app.

4. I transfer books onto it by dragging them across from my PC into the phone via itunes.

The size of the Kindle is better for a book, but otherwise the phone works really well.

I spend all day at the computer so if I'm reading anything longer than a short article I'll send it to my kindle.

There's some cheap second hand ones on Khmer24:
https://khmer24.com/en/mobiles/for-sale ... d-11257118
https://khmer24.com/en/mobiles/amazon-k ... d-11219440

But also some new ones, they aren't crazy:
https://khmer24.com/en/mobiles/all-new- ... d-11342876

The 2022 version will be light years ahead of your 2008 version.

If you don't want to bother with Khmer24, this company used to sell them, and might be able to get one in for you: https://sweetmemorystore.com/

And also, tho I don't have my phone on me atm, I swear I've seen them on Nham24 also.

I use ebook apps on my iPad. But I’d prefer to use a kindle. Is there an easy way to get downloaded books onto a kindle without the use of laptop?

If I download books from a hooky site onto my iPad - can I transfer them to kindle? Without Amazon getting all arsey with me.

All US ground troops have targeting lasers on their rifles that integrate into their helmets and IR vision systems. It’s part of what makes Western troops masters of the night.

The new system from Microsoft is a full VR replacement, being tested by big Green (US army). Think VR Vision Pro for the average grunt. Live version of Call of Duty.
