If there was an Asian Austen Reed i would be a very happy male shopper, all a man needs under one roof, clothes, shoes , sports wear and a barber "Asian style, massage"etc.

The "mango "for men maybe interesting as I would expect/hope it to have a decent selection of linens

Jacobincambodia wrote:Have u been to malls in Thailand and Malaysia? They seem like they have an abundance of food courts too. I wonder if they take that approach because that's what most Cambodians can actually afford, plus it's proven with western chains all over Phnom Penh. I know for some stores, they are just re-locating to a more central location. Levi for example is at Lucky Department Store and Adidas and Puma, they also have locations around the city. I'm sure they will shut down a location or two once the mall gets on it's feet.
Having owned/operated a food mall outlet, it's a marketing maxim that the single thing that most shoppers will buy is a meal, or at least a snack. The golden goose, though, at least in the west, is a well placed drinks stand with regulated competition. Thus, it's not unusual to see the owner of a food court reserve this for him/herself.

My friend works at AEON in construction management, from the photos he was showing me tonight, I'd be surprised if it was open in 19 days from now.

But who knows?

Maybe it will half open or soft open or something.

With regard to a well-stocked food court, they might have seen the dearth of options at Soriya and decided more and better is...well, better.

Yeah, considering some open without all the walls up first, wouldn't shock me if they went through with that date after all.

They'll decide the day of anyways.

I'm looking forward to visiting this mall. Looks pretty big and fancy. That facebook page is a little strange though.

Phnom Penh Paragon sucks stinky water buffalo balls.

Aeon's website says it will open Fri. June 27. Where did the OP hear that it would open on the 20th?
I am sooooo very sorry if you can't understand or appreciate my sarcastic facetiousness.

Based on what else is available in Cambodia, and assuming AEON will be as nice as it sounds, I tend to agree that it will be the first REAL shopping mall in Cambodia.

Nothing here even resembles anything that's called a mall in most major cities around the world.

Glad to see their doing fire safety training!
