Oscar Bar … on the corner

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I come at oscars since 17 or 18 i think, an the concept i cant find anywhere in Cambodia: The mix of khmer songs and western songs, khmer girls and hookers, expat and turists. Used to be addicted to Sharkeys before but slowly I moved to Oscars, also the staff from Sharkeys moved for a part to Oscars. The western music there is useal a little to old for persons from my age but exactly thats what i like about them. And Oscar himself is a nice guy even if he is pissed completely. His wife who runs the bussiness also is a very nice "normal" person. The only thing what worries me s the stairs: if you take the front stairs to get out if pissed, its a real danger, in Germany the manager from this place would be shot immediately by some security-council i think, thats why i try to avoid it and take the back stairs. One of my belgian friends who was all his live in music bussiness always told me: play khmer music, the girls go to dance and the barangs will folow, not the opposit way. The barangs have the money but the girls decide where to go or not to go !! Already 106 days i didnt "Oscar", 86 days more to go if nothing changes . . .
