Awesome, thanks!takeoman wrote:
I've no problem with you moving the thread, it''s served it's purpose.
The Dragon and I have talked. We do feel it's time to be more proactive in slowing down the inter-forum discussions (and by that we just mean put them somewhere more appropriate, not censor them).
Now you'll go form in history for being the first to have their CEO/K440 thread moved!
And thanks for giving us a chance. It's no secret we're brand spanking new and need all the feedback we can get right now!

Re: Is CEO Repeating The Mistakes of That Other Site
To me it’s all down to the moderators.
The actual content, sources, topics etc. are always going to be fairly similar due to Cambodia being a small country, with an even smaller expat community.
However, how the sites are run and managed will make all the difference.
Treat people/posters respect and you will get better posts and members. That’s a fact of life but it's also pertinent to anonymous website forums.

No, CEO is not censoring anything it's moderators don't like, banning or deleting members or members posts without explanation, and not publishing poster's private messages online.takeoman wrote:Is CEO Repeating The Mistakes of That Other Site
As a community if we don't like it we have to show our disdain for it.
If we sound a little too eager, it's because we like the taste of freedom and have become intoxicated by it.
The fact that this thread is existing right now is just AMAZING!!!
On another well known forum, this would have been deleted and you would have been banned for being so critical. Therein lies the difference.

Re: Is CEO Repeating The Mistakes of That Other Site
There are a several posters on CEO who only complain about other posters who only complain about the other forum. Some of them start new threads complaining about too many existing threads which are about complaining about the other forum. Some other posters here have complained about this thread which complains about other threads which only complain about the other forum.
If this whole drama isn't asinine, I don't know what is. But...it seems to have given a sizable boost to both forum's page hits over the past week. This too shall pass.

IMHO let the posters vent and the General and OD should just stay out of it.
If you have called a truce between board owners, honor it. However let your forum members have a say.

The other forum was so badly run, that I doubt any forum or business will ever make the mistakes of that site. It stands as a monument to "how not to run a business".

I agree. Have no problem with these threads being moved here, but I hope CEO stays true to the ideals of No Censorship and Transparency.kiwiincambodia wrote:IMHO let the posters vent and the General and OD should just stay out of it.
