Traveling the Mekong Delta, Vietnam, first day. March 23, 2024
I took a friend’s advice and decided to push back work and take a high-speed shuttle boat to Vietnam.
Thanks to the Vietnamese - they came up with this thing.
5.5 hours along the Mekong, two customs offices and you are in the small town of CHAU DOC in the south of Vietnam.
The hotels are inexpensive, so is the food, there are no white people here at all, tomorrow I’ll rent a motorcycle and go explore new territories, fortunately, there are a lot of interesting places here.

The goal of the trip - to cross the mighty Bassac River on foot on a footbridge - has been accomplished!
Results - approximately 300 km on a Phnom Penh-Chaudok-Phnom Penh boat and almost 700 km in a circle on a Honda AirBlade 125 motorcycle.
In terms of money - one boat ticket ($38 there, $40 back) and about another $100 for everything (motorcycle rental, food, hotels, gasoline, SIM card, ferry crossings).
Am I happy with the trip?
I am delighted!
If anyone needs information on the route and inexpensive hotels, ask. )

Thanks @SINUS , that looks like a great trip! I'm tempted to take the boat to Vietnam next time I go there.

I worked in Chau Doc for a total of 6 years and it is arguably my favourite town in Vietnam.
