Re: 5000 riel notes
Oh a month easily. Maybe 2 months.WildAlaskaKen wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2024 10:08 amThis is Cambodia. 10,000 riel notes work wonders. I dont wait anywhere, and unlike Vegas where you have to pass out a C note just to be looked at, $2 here does the trick.Doc67 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2024 9:59 amAnd you start by taking a paper ticket with a number on it and then watch a screen with lots of numbers on it and wait for your number to start to flash. Meanwhile, you can watch your phone which also has small numbers on it that keep getting larger, this is called a clock and this is your life ebbing away...WildAlaskaKen wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2024 9:32 am Im told they have this thing in Cambodia called a "Bank" ( I think my spelling is correct) where you can get thousands of pieces of paper with numbers on them.
Hint to newbies: 200,000 in 5K demoninations should last you a month, So to save time, why dont you just make one trip to the bank every few months, get the notes a million riel at a time. Toss them in a drawer and use as needed.
Plus the bank girls get all moist and fluffy when you get a million riel from them.
Most days I spend $1.25 or less. That includes my lobster dinner for a dollar.

I usually run about 150000 a month cash here in Siem. I go days with out tipping when I am in Pool mode.John Bingham wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2024 10:37 amBut 200.000 Riel is worth just under $50 so unless you live in some remote unpopulated area it won't last very long at all. I don't even understand why someone asked this question unless they are very new here, or live in some remote unpopulated area.WildAlaskaKen wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2024 10:08 am Hint to newbies: 200,000 in 5K demoninations should last you a month, So to save time, why dont you just make one trip to the bank every few months, get the notes a million riel at a time.
