highlights in Thailand this week
all looking good ( no mention here of Mr T)
Watershed moment in Thailand as it becomes 1st in ASEAN to legalize same sex marriage and the only 3rd in Asia after Taiwan & Nepal.
· Looking to buy alcohol at any time in Thailand? Well, that bill also passed with flying colours (1streading only) which means 2 more readings remain.
· Casinos are illegal (for now) but that bill is going to the parliament today and is likely to be passed as well (again 1st reading only).
· WhosCall, an application that blocks spam calls, has put Thailand as the top country in ASEAN where the number of spam calls have risen in double digit while in other countries it has dipped.
· The Digital Wallet of 10,000 Baht is likely to be handed out in Q4 2024 and would not use funds from borrowing but instead it would be used from the 2024 and 2025 budgets.
· The electricity price for the May-August billing period will remain at 4.18 Baht per unit, (US$ .11/) as decided by the Energy Regulatory Commission

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
