The concerts i attended growing up in dc in the 60 's , weekend trips to NY and the Filmore eastkhmerhamster wrote: ↑Sun Mar 24, 2024 6:59 pm Unpopular opinion. I love the idea of concerts but the actual experience never lived up to the hype in my mind.
Standing for hours, queuing, expensive warm beer, invariably have some prick nearby annoying me.
I’d def watch the concert in the comfort of my own home - but at the venue, nah not anymore.
I’m sure others must share my opinion but just don’t want to admit it.
+ the summer of love in sf were kick ass (hitched out from DC)
beer??? nope
One of the best was The Who & Led Zeppelin in 69 in Maryland and numerous dead concerts across the states
Was headed up to Woodstock, but we were on acid an got lost on the way ;-(
Haven't been to one in 45 years an doubt i'd ever go to one again
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

The one concert I regret missing the most was Pink Floyd on their Animals tour 1977 at Cleveland stadium. Whole concert sounds like it was stuff legends are made of.

Re: one concert wish i had been
The concerts that I had been to previously (Deep Purple, The Sweet) had been disappointments as far as sound quality went, so I had assumed that Pink Floyd wouldn't be able to replicate their album sound very well.
When Pink Floyd played Perth in 1988 I volunteered to work and let others attend the concert as I didn't want to be disappointed by the sound.
Apparently I was wrong and deeply regret forgoing the opportunity to see the show.

Oxygene is a classicFreightdog wrote:I only ever went to one- Jean Michel Jarre’s Docklands. I intended to go to others (so, not just ‘the one’ that I missed) but opportunities either never coincided, or plans got cut short by other events.
But I loved it. Despite the rain showers and the cold.

I was able to catch them in 1995 on their Pulse tour at Cleveland stadium. The stadium was built for a Worlds fair in the 1920s and was torn down soon after this concert and replaced with the present one. We were standing about mid field and I remember them doing Money and the sound of the cash registers at the beginning of the song sounded like we were listening on headphones. How they got that sound out of that old stadium, I'll never know. They had 50 semi trailers of gear for that tour. I also caught them doing The Wall at Earls Court in London in 1981 which was another mind-blowing experience.Username Taken wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 4:16 amThe concerts that I had been to previously (Deep Purple, The Sweet) had been disappointments as far as sound quality went, so I had assumed that Pink Floyd wouldn't be able to replicate their album sound very well.

Thank you for the kind advice. I will follow it. My research also tells me that shrooms come from nature, while LSD is made in a laboratory and could contain other crap that could cause the "bad trip." And definitely, who has the time to be drugged all day when just a few hours will do the trick?ressl wrote: ↑Sun Mar 24, 2024 2:54 pm Give shrooms a try first. It f***ks your brain the same way, but the trip is more short and the risk of a horror trip is less likely. I would recommend to have a guide with you the first time - yes, you are grown up, you are strong and you are mentally fit, but seriously, if you haven't done psychedelics before, you have not the slightest idea what type of dimension is waiting for you.
Where to buy? Good question, I had my last trip a decade or so ago

"LSD stands for Lysergic Acid Diethylamide. Lysergic acid is a naturally occurring substance and can also be synthesized. It occurs naturally in ergot and is a chemical produced by a specific type of fungus that grows on grains like rye and wheat. When infected, some of the kernels of the grain turn black as the fungus takes them over. If this grain is then eaten, bizarre behavior and violent physical reactions can result.
