Re: Moon tonight - Last day of Chinese New Year
I forever see a rabbit in the moon, but not so much using a pestle, I see more of a profile. Year of The Water Rabbit. ..and The Moon affects The Tides..
..not necessarily Thai or Chinese but Japanese in this case:
Rabbits by Mori Kansai, 1881
...
There is an island in Japan, within The Seto Inland sea, called Usagi-shima, or, Okunoshima.."Rabbit Island"..where a thousand feral European rabbits live amongst the ruins of WWII. There are quite a few local visitors, and a handful of megaphoned Chinese tour groups. The island is scenic and quite large, and effectively uninhabited.
God Bless The Rabbits!
('Tone-sai'. Khmer for Rabbit.)
And learn a little 'Chinese':

Re: Moon tonight - Last day of Chinese New Year
Looks like the moon was the inspiration for the Yin-yang symbol … who’s with me?
