Yes, but because it isn't nearly as extreme in its application or scope compared to Thailand, it's usually forgotten. Generally, one must be literally trying to insult, ridicule, satirise or defame the king to actually get in trouble, whereas in Srok ah Siem one literally gets a prison sentence for criticising the dresses that Vajiralongkorn's daughter designed.

As a guest here it’s still not something I personally would screw around with. Even criticizing the government is something I wouldn’t do.HaifongWangchuck wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 5:52 pm

Yes, like the famous Russian ballet. The one where Igor Stravinsky's music was welcomed calmly.SiemReapLOL wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 1:31 pmI think I was modded.
But there is nothing wrong with supporting the arts. Plenty of manly men are ballet dancers

Foreigners mostly get ignored and allowed to do whatever they want to do in the Kingdom of Wonder.
Being a Khmer who can influence other Khmer, however is a whole different treatment. Lesse Majesty, defaming Khmer culture, and whatever reasons is used by the authorities to clamp down.
Thus locals write stories of horrific traffic accidents. ‘Beautiful women’, cars that fail to avoid road medians. And beer commercials everywhere.
At least from what I’ve seen.
