Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny - a vocal critic of President Vladimir Putin - has died, according to the prison service.
The jailed dissident, who had campaigned against official corruption and led major anti-Kremlin protests, was aged 47.
Mr Putin has been informed of his death according to the state news agency TASS.

His name is now sadly added to the ever-expanding list of unfortunate ends befalling Putin critics.

Trump is a prominent vocal critic of Biden and his administration, and many would say, troublesome figure in American politics. Would you say the same if he suddenly died under suspicious circumstances?

This is more than just one individual person who has died, as I’m sure you recognise. It’s what it demonstrates, signifies and represents about how political opponents of a clearly mafia-esq led political regime are dealt with in Putins Russia.
