Re: VA Foreign Medical Program (FMP)
Sure they are all not, many are getting along in their years. But just like any cop on any routine call out. The security guys haven’t read the files and gotten a full briefing before rushing in to do their jobs. Many cops are killed and injured responding to call outs.khmerhamster wrote:This sounds like nonsense. They lived in situations outnumbered outarmed and still kill their enemies. The chance of them taking a firearm or billy club away and using it on the guards and everyone else is guaranteed. Only raw size has a chance.
Also won’t many vets be getting on in years? Surely that will limit their lethal weapon-ness?
Maybe I just don’t understand America (and many Americans).
Ordinarily veterans are polite and good at following orders.
Except those on psychotic outbreaks. They are relieving their combat experiences. And reacting what they believe is perceived threats.
Anyways this is all about getting veterans the benefits and support they deserve. Especially in Cambodia. Where there is no VA Affairs center to go to.

Apparently you have not chosen to avail yourself of the numerous veterans hiring preferences now enshrined in statutory, federal law. You don't even need to be the most qualified for the job. Not even close. You can just jump right ahead of others because of your privileged status, to the detriment of the country. You know, because politics. But don't get me started.Fridaywithmateo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 7:40 pm Not just that … VA has many tactics to drive away vets and therefore save money on services … this was what drove efforts to the “Veterans Choice” card and access to their provider of choice … ie civilian medical systems. VA is broken. They recently made a big leap forward with the PACT Act … huge for Vietnam era vets and presumptive claims. But the fact is the VA is not much different than any other USA federal agency … mired in bureaucratic processes and VERY political. Don’t get me started.

Unless challenged, you’d have us believe that all vets are John Rambo.

And give up that SSDI check every month? That would be un-American.Roryborealis wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 3:03 amApparently you have not chosen to avail yourself of the numerous veterans hiring preferences now enshrined in statutory, federal law. Are there any US military vets who have experience filing claims to the VA using the FMP?
Wondering what your reimbursement time was or if your provider even might have direct billed to FMP?
Thanks in advance.
this might help you , https://health.mil/inTransition
a guy there called me here ( at an ungodly hour )
to make appointment by email to call me back ..
