Zombie apocalypse-Thailand

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Zombie apocalypse-Thailand

Post by phuketrichard »

interesting , long read from Andrew Marshall
The story of the remarkable rise of Move Forward to become Thailand's most popular political party, and the deep state's conspiracy to stop Pita Limjaroenrat becoming prime minister.

At the heart of the plot against Move Party leader Pita Limjaroenrat was an attempt by the zombies of the deep state, elderly men who have failed to realise their day is long dead, to reanimate the corpse of a defunct company to wage their battle against democracy.

This is the inside story of the rise of Move Forward and the conspiracy to stop Pita becoming prime minister.

Well, the zombie corpse looks like it can still kill...

What makes you think the corpses' kids won't pick up the mantle of oligarchy and their parents' power of business monopolies?

Meanwhile the zombies are doing pretty well here in Thailand, while that nutcase Andrew keeps spouting his nonsense from abroad. Love it or loathe it, it is what it is.

Most Thais I know just aren't political enough to REALLY care, they've more or less "moved on" from "Move Forward" lol. Their focus is on their next raise, and how it will compare to the increase in the cost of living. And on buying the latest iPhone, of course. They're not going to get themselves shot in the streets fighting for Pita to become PM.

Now, there has been a curious turn of events as Thaksin is also possibly facing a royal insult charge just before he will become eligible for "parole". Has he been lured into a trap?

Prayut Petchkhun, spokesperson for the attorney-general's office, told reporters the seven-year delay in acting on the royal insults complaint was because Thaksin had been abroad.

He gave no timeframe for when a decision would be taken, adding Thaksin, 74, had denied wrongdoing and provided authorities with "a letter requesting fairness". He did not elaborate on the allegation against Thaksin.
