air asia, transiting DMK airport onwards

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Anyone used them in past 4 months or so?

Just want check, Before when flying Phnom Pehn to Phuket via DMK airport got both boarding passes on check in
airasia always was fly thru ticket, ( no needed check in in bangkok)

Connection protected by airline means, you'll get your flight, even if there is a delay. If it is the same airline, you'll get both tickets on check in, if not, you have the pleasant task to go through immigration, since Bangkok has no transit check in counters (other than in KL, but this doesn't work, if you have checked luggage anyway)

Edit: I just saw, that your conecting flight is domestic, so you have to go through immigration anyway

yes, there was/is a transit passengers immigration in DMK
you always clear immigration in Thailand, at ur first arrival point.
thai viet jet is cheaper BUT goes thru Swamppy and you need clear regular immigration, (collect bags if you have them) and re check in for domestic flight, could be a real pain in high season.

It's confusing, they could make it more clear as they used to do when they said which flights are "fly-thru". Anyway, DMK doesn't require you to have a printed boarding pass, so you could show that on your phone if you do mobile check-in. Unless you have checked luggage, I don't see why they'd prevent you from transferring airside, so the big question is if they would check your bags through to the final destination.
