Hamas Terrorists Attack Festival in Israel and Target Civilians elsewhere in the Country

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

What’s going to happen when the Ethiopia invades Eritrea, the next hot spot?
Ethiopia already tried that, back when the USSR was providing material support and training. Russia is a bit busy at the moment, and Ethiopia is having enough trouble just suppressing their own people in Oromia. I don't think we need to worry about that for the time being.

Yes and no.

Ethiopia needs seaports. The only port is Djibouti (which is charging a fortune that Ethiopia can’t afford). Ethiopian Prime Minister had already made public speeches about how loosing the ports (when Eritrea was allowed to declare independence) was strangling his country to death. He’s already moved troops to the border.

Ethiopia has been mired in civil war with various tribes since the president declared that Ethiopia needed to be a unified nation and not be divided along tribal lines as it’s always been since Ethiopian empire times.

Ethiopia normalized relations when he was elected hoping Eritrea would give Ethiopia access to its ports. He won the Nobel Peace Prize for doing so. Since then Eritrea has refused Ethiopia port access and instead has considered inviting the Russia to establish a port.

The Eritrean leader is a dictator who has a slave army and is much hated around the world.

It’s a political calculation. Invade a hated dictator on the grounds of liberation while the world is busy with Ukraine and Gaza? The prime minister believes his country’s future depends on it or Ethiopia will be strangled and millions will starve and die.

I hope it doesn’t come to pass.

Sorry for diverting the main topic.

Stateside:
https://thehill.com/homenews/house/4343 ... democrats/
The House approved a resolution on Tuesday condemning the “drastic rise of antisemitism” in the U.S. and around the world following Hamas’ unprecedented attack on Israel on Oct. 7
rejects all forms of terror, hate, discrimination and harassment against individuals in the Jewish community and “clearly and firmly states that anti-Zionism is antisemitism.”
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions ... sm-speech/
To fight antisemitism on campuses, we must restrict speech
This is because the value of free speech has been elevated to a near-sacred level on university campuses. As a result, universities have had to tolerate hate speech — even hate speech calling for violence against ethnic or religious minorities. With the dramatic rise in antisemitism, we are discovering that this is a mistake: Antisemitism — and other forms of hate — cannot be fought on university campuses without restricting poisonous speech that targets Jews and other minorities.

^ I guess simple ‘mericans can’t process differences and that’s why antizionism equates to antisemitism there? Not the same at all
Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

The potential could be examined for states in that Gulf area to join up, as part of the American motivation for warmed partnerships in the Middle East. There are also European states that greatly want to help in the rehabilitation of the Strip. This, too, can be utilized.

Overall, there’ll be some kind of combination of three elements. One, something international that will deal with rehabilitating the Strip. A PA bureaucratic component — I’m not talking about Ramallah, but local Fatah from Gaza. And maybe some local Gaza leaders. The combination of those three — an international protectorate, the remains of the PA in Gaza and a local element — that’s the mix that could evolve into something different. But we have to be very modest when discussing the future in an area that’s a war zone right now.

knew it would happen, VERY surprised they admitted it
what with all this "targeted" bombing

IDF says it mistakenly killed 3 hostages: 'Unbearable tragedy,' Netanyahu says
The Israeli military accidentally killed three Israeli hostages in Gaza who had been taken captive by Hamas on Oct. 7. IDF soldiers identified the hostages as threatening, the Israel Defense Forces said on Friday.

"During combat in Shejaiya, the IDF mistakenly identified 3 Israeli hostages as a threat and as a result, fired toward them and the hostages were killed," the military said.

The hostages were Yotam Haim, Samer Talalka and Alon Shamriz, the IDF said in a statement

also saying the operation to KILL all of Hamas could go on for months>
go for it Netanyahu
