Gettin' Hitched ... Finally

Post by Fridaywithmateo »

After tasting many peaches throughout East Asia ... I think I finally found the sweetest.

For those who've already married an Asia Pearl ... can you please share some wisdom for a guy marrying into Khmer culture?

She's a hard-working gal (single mom w/2 great sons) from Takeo ... big farmer type family (with big family baggage of course) ... but she's pretty solid woman.

Marriage is 24.12.2023 in the village.

My second time around with cross culture marriage, but Khmer is new for me.

Thanks.

Are we invited?

I never really got the point of marrying someone, but seems many people do enjoy it so good luck :good:

Congratulations!

May I wish you and your better half a lifetime of happiness.

Things will change, hopefully all for the better.

How did you manage to escape from your previous marriage, if I may ask? I thought divorce in Japan was almost impossible. And the lifelong payments afterwards even more impossible.

My ex-wife not Japanese ... Ecuadorian ... we had 15 years of marriage and the Corps made us move 16 times ... she had enough and threw in the towel ... can't say I blame her ... and she gave me two great sons ... we are still on good terms.

Firstly, congratulations!

The monks said our most auspicious date was in December as well so that's when we got married. Wedding anniversary Christmas Eve is going to be an expensive one!!

No pearls of wisdom to share, just good vibes!

Any weird stories from you guys with Khmer wives who do weird Khmer stuff … I guess I should get used to it cause I have no idea what’s going on in my wife’s Khmer brain 80 % of the time … always an adventure … but she is adorable to be sure.
