We need Equality of Outcome NOW!
We need Equality of Outcome NOW!
If people want equality of outcome, instead of the much more preferable Equality of Opportunity then we need to address some of the figures in the image below

Women need to up their game to be honest. They are seriously lagging behind men in dying at work!
But on a serious note if far more women than men are attaining higher levels of qualifications then why are they "allegedly" earning less than men? Could it be that the qualifications they are getting are not for professions that are highly paid??
And to address the "deaths at work" figure ... it's actually due to the fact that men are willing to work in extremely high risk jobs eg. mining, construction & farming
And yeah .. unless the data has changed in the last 20 years, farming was considered, by insurance companies, as an extremely high risk profession.

Basically, women would appear to be more sensible, disciplined and self-aware. Men may be more deluded about the world's expectations... The numbers are revealing especially for younger groups in school...
And you are right about farming. One of my uncles and his son, my cousin, died in farm accidents, years apart. Uncle got electrocuted raising old steel water well bores out of the ground using a front-end loader when the casings accidentally contacted the overhead power line in his yard. Cousin died working alone when trying to dislodge a field stone jammed in the back of his hay bale making machine; got pinned inside when the machine jerked forward and the prongs grabbed him...

Willing to work in high risk jobs, or more drawn to it?IraHayes wrote: ↑Sat Nov 18, 2023 12:39 pm And to address the "deaths at work" figure ... it's actually due to the fact that men are willing to work in extremely high risk jobs eg. mining, construction & farming

For as long as I can remember, there have been comparisons made, or rather, acknowledgement of the differences, between boy and girls, women and men.
Girls do well in school, while boys sometimes struggle. Not necessarily for lack of intelligence, but where and how it’s applied, and how it’s used.
Impetuousness, risky behaviour, confrontation, competition, impatience.
That list (quoted in the op) favours looking at degree level education, for instance, but not much reference to apprenticeships, especially in practical disciplines.
The latest trend of giving a disproportionate weight to the voices of a minority aside, much of evolution has had males taking the higher risks, females providing the stability.
Granted, with the benefit of knowledge and education, we should also be able to harness our better characteristics and limit the effects of our worst.
Patience is a virtue, until it becomes a hindrance to making decisions.

Re: We need Equality of Outcome NOW!
Society confuses equality of outcome to equality of opportunity. Everyone should have an equal opportunity to achieve their dreams. To me, enforcing equal outcomes smacks of communism.
But men and women are born different. Through thousands of years of evolution, they are different. Why not make a society that plays to their strengths instead of trying to force them to be equal?
Just my opinion. And I know it’s a controversial one.
