You would need to confirm a bacteria infection, else some steroidal creams can do wonders for skin areas of inflammation. Too often the antibiotic pill is the go to for everything. If a person has a severe internal bacterial infection, an antibiotic my be needed if all other treatments fail. Antibiotics would not be my first choice. There has become far more antibiotic resistant strains out in the wild due to over prescribed antibiotics. One that comes to mine is staph infection which has become antibiotic resistant.

There are plenty of resources on Goog

Here is one for a read
https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/b ... microbiome

excerpt

Use antibiotics with care. There are times when you need to take antibiotics, but other times when you really don’t. Overuse of antibiotics in the general population leads to antibiotic resistance. In the individual, it can kill your good bacteria along with the bad. Sometimes this disrupts the balance in your gut microbiome, leading the wrong kind to come back stronger.

What should I do?"

"I think from the antibiotic Cipro"

He tried 3 diff creams incl miconazole nitrate

Helpful suggestions welcomed
That looks like scabies rash, I know because I’ve just had a bout and I caught it in PP. You get rid of it with a cream treatment and/or Ivermectin and you also need to hot wash all your clothes/bedding etc.

Put on my "doc's hat" here ...

If it were me,mI would do this:

... warm salt water (sea salt) soakings 2x daily for 10-20 minutes as tolerated ... direct sunshine 10 minutes daily ... exercise lightly, w/sweat ... zero sugar, low carbs ... Tiger balm light coat ...

Get well soon.

For something as simple as i rash i would go to Referral Hospital. They seen all of it and its piss cheap as its funded my aid money.

A consultation and cream would probably cost about 2,5-4$ in total. 2$ for the consultation and then depending on what cream you need.

Save the consultant fee and waiting at my pharmacy .
There are so many pharmacies and some have to be quacks
but over a few years with mine I have some faith .
I woulda bet the farm mine was caused by something like scabies
and I showed it to them ( no photo) but they didn’t mention it looked like that .
I don’t know 🤷🏽‍♂️ but it’s gone now , I have a couple of offshoots now bugging me
But I am afraid to see a doctor here for anything ..

Thanks for all the thoughtful and considered responses.

My friend we suspect had dengue yet neither of the 2 clinics and Sorya Kill tested for it even though he was showing most of the symptoms. Gastro, a cold, then dengue and a nasty repetitive cough that ruined normal sleep, added to the squirts and no appetite - not helped by paranoid searching of Dr Google with the usual conflicting diagnosis got him to book an instant flight back to the US at, I must add, really good $ at a days notice.

So he is 2/3rd of the way home as I write - there is nothing that US doctors will help with as the rash had receded downwards as the Cipro allergic symptoms suggested but the issues and the constant ailments became too much.

Hopefully he will return here in Jan permanently as he is a super nice guy who has wanted to retire here for a decade and I will miss his company.

Thanks for all your comments.
