Foreign Woman Allegedly Driving Drunk Crashes her Porsche in Phnom Penh and Flees

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): A foreign woman, believed to be under the influence of alcohol, crashed into a road divider while driving a luxury PORSCHE car. The incident occurred on Street 169 in Sangkat Veal Vong, Khan 7 Makara, Phnom Penh, at approximately 3:20 AM on November 9, 2023.

Witnesses at the scene reported observing the white PORSCHE car, registered with license plate number Phnom Penh 2AI-9916, speeding along Street 169 in a northbound direction. The driver's reckless behavior led to her losing control of the vehicle and crashing into a road divider. The impact resulted in severe damage to the front of the car and caused one wheel to break. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The foreign woman behind the wheel fled the scene.

Following the incident, the local police from Veal Vong Sangkat Administration Police Station conducted an inspection and informed the municipal traffic officer for further investigation. The Land Traffic Office of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police is currently awaiting the car owner's cooperation to resolve the matter.

Rinse and repeat ... pray to god, these new leaders will start public education campaigns to fix this problem of "anything goes" driving behavior.

Easy to do ... just model it after Japan ... they figured it out, and the roads in Japan are damn safe.

ASEAN ... not so much.

Still a fair amount of property to just dump in the middle of the street.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Turns out road dividers are quite good at minimizing collateral damages while being pretty inclusive.

Japanese are trained to follow the law. Instilled from birth, reinforced at all levels of society. The police are your friend.

Chinese follow the law when forced.

Not sure what the Khmer would do.
