3 Taiwanese Men Arrested in Phnom Penh with 2 Kilos of Ketamine
Cambodia News: On the afternoon of July 11, 2023, the Anti-Drug Police confirmed the successful execution of a high-level operation directed by General Sar Thet, the National Police Commissioner, and General Mak Chito, Deputy Commissioner General of the Anti-Drug Plan. Acting upon the direct orders of Lt. Gen. Kheung Sarath, Director of the Anti-Drug Department, the operation was conducted on November 3, 2023, at 17:15 at the Special Forces of the Anti-Drug Department (A4).
Mr. Vong Savath, Deputy Prosecutor of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, provided leadership and coordination throughout the operation. In collaboration with the Phnom Penh Municipal Police, an intensive investigation was carried out, resulting in the crackdown on drug trafficking and illegal storage along Street K5, Sangkat Srah Chak, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh.
Authorities have confirmed the arrest of three suspects who have been identified as follows:
1. Name: YANG SAO CHUN, Male, 36 years old, Chinese, Taiwanese, Date of Birth: 1987.
2. Name: CHUANG PO CHIEN, Male, 30 years old, Nationality: Taiwanese, Date of Birth: 1993.
3. Name: WU CHUN TE, Male, 29 years old, Nationality: Taiwanese, Date of Birth: 1994.
The substantial evidence seized during the operation includes:
1. Ketamine (KETAMINE) weighing 2144 grams (2 kg 144 grams).
The competent authorities of the Anti-Drug Department are currently preparing to establish a comprehensive case file. Once completed, they will forward the file, along with the perpetrators, suspects, and exhibits, to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for further legal action.
