Cambodia / Syria

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

There is nothing remotely similar other then their bloodshed. 1 was warped in the ideology which is redistribution of wealth the other being the holy book called the Qur'an.

Islam? Its time to take the gloves off or just walk away and let it happen. Go after their funding in Iran and Saudi Arabia. Its a holy war and our stupid leaders don't get it or are one of them like Obama-Iben-Lying the closet Islamofascist. Dr Ben Carson's latest speech touch's on it.

They want to destroy Christian sites and kill Christians, start destroying Islamic sites. Kill Americans or bomb our cities, run airplanes into out buildings? We bomb Mecca or Iranian holy sites. Go big or go home! Rules of engagement, forget it. Stop wasting time on small drone strikes, bomb big. One Christian beheaded, one holy site leveled. Islamofascists already hate us and all muslims have let their religion be hijacked by crazies. Where were the fanatics from that flew the airplanes into buildings on 9/11? Saudi Arabia, so why haven't we gone after the people funding all of these crazies? If it wasn't for their oil they would be still living in tents and molesting goats/camels.

Me a bigot? Yes when fanatics kill and behead. (and no I'm not a Christian. I wouldn't belong to any religion that would have a person like me as a member.)

I'm not sure ISIS has such grand views for its subjects that the Khmer Rouge had. They seem to be attempting to antagonize anyone and everyone they can think of, so I think they would fit your basic example of a non-rational actor. I think radical socialist movements like the Khmer Rouge or the Great Leap Forward were paved with good intentions, only woefully ignorant of basic economics and basic humanity. By comparison, I don't see ISIS as having positive goals at all.
