Recommend your top Cambodian music picks
Having a music morning and it dawned on me that I have very little Cambodian music.
Between the lots of you that have been here for a while, would it be possible to get some recommendations?
I will start with a project combining jazz and traditional Cambodian instruments, unfortunately have not been able to locate this music outside of Spotify...

Hope ya'll don't find this thread too boring, your contributions will be much welcome and listened to.
Sincerely,
ItWasntMe

VannDa - Time To Rise feat. Master Kong Nay. 0.26 start.

Have to admit I like the original better, I think a lot simply because of its traditional sound.John Bingham wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2023 11:13 am This Sin Sisamouth cover is pretty good:

The cover was good though, cool to see a more up-to-date approach

Rap with a bit more meaning behind it singing about the corruption and elitism in Cambodia.
Not so long ago that he was arrested for releasing a song accusing the Cambodian government and HE to sell their own people and land to the Chinese.

I rather like this G Devith track that was riding the "Time to Rise" craze:
This Leng Navatra abomination is so cringe to most younger urban Khmer (especially the English part) that I sometimes play it to troll my gf just because she reacts so damn negatively to it:
You've probably heard this song already, since clubs and bars never stop playing it:
Another ridiculously popular song you've probably heard:
And some lesser known music that I still like:

Slightly off topic, but it’s interesting to see these two videos, especially the short second one, as I once again get a hard to express sense of what may have been lost, even though there is also some familiarity between then and what I see now.

Keep the thread alive!
Always liked this Sereysothea cover. Bit cheesy, good rhythm, she's pretty.
