Retiring to Cambodia

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Thailand has lost its charm, far too many of the Pattaya crowd is seeping into the other areas of the country. I’d guess that’s why the OP is headed out to greener pastures in Cambodia as well. Such a shame!
so true
We both needed a change of environment and there are a number of factors that made our decision. It may be that we move back to LoS in a year or few but for now we want to enjoy some quiet time together. We are close enough to maintain family links and for the GF to visit them occasionally but far enough away for them not to disturb and visit. Already established the family call on Sunday afternoon and, otherwise, not to call unless there is an emergency.
Good choice. Im doing the same, again, Thailand is becoming tiresome for me. Its cheaper in Siem Reap vis a vis Bangkok, easier lifestyle, less government hassles. Thailand has its benefits, and its only $100 away.
