Los Angeles, California: Leonard Nimoy, who is best known for playing Spock in the "Star Trek" movies and television show has died at age 83.

He was taken to the hospital last month for lung disease, and has been fighting chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, even though he stopped smoking 30 prior.
