Change my perception, says controversial Malaysian YouTuber who disparaged Cambodian cuisine
;;;;;;;Despite the Malaysian Embassy in Cambodia’s rejection of his disparaging remarks about Cambodian food, controversial internet celebrity Nigel Ng, nicknamed Uncle Roger has issued a challenge to Cambodian chefs to change his views of Khmer food by offering him a better taste of the Kingdom’s fare.
The Malaysian comedian and self-proclaimed internet food critic has come under criticism in Laos and Cambodia after he labelled Cambodian and Lao dishes as “shitty versions of Thai food”.

I am here as a Khmer mom representing my country, my people of Cambodia, and I am up for the challenge,” Sovanna said in a Tik Tok video. “I am personally inviting you to my house in California for a home-cooked meal.”
“I am going to show you how Cambodian food is made and taste. I am expecting an apology from you to the people of Cambodia.”

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Cambodian food certainly has it's highlights.
Some of my favourite dishes in Cambodia included Ginger Chicken, braised pork with egg, and Amok.
They had some great Chinese restaurants in Phnom Penh too.
I really liked the Cambodian cafe/ restaurants that served steamed pork buns, pots of Jasmine tea, and delicious Pork noodle soups.

More than just any old backpacker.
