Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. Cambodia News (Kandal Province): According to the Kandal provincial police, on August 4, 2023, at 9:30 am, two crafty street mechanics were disciplined for drumming up business by spreading metal bars on the Neak Leung Bridge to puncture the oncoming vehicles. The captive customers then went to the nearest mechanics for repairs and the business was a success. However, such a success created suspicion and the two men were reported to the police.

The suspects were Kong Vibol, a 44-year-old from Apel Teuk village, Kompong Phnom commune, Leuk Dek district, Kandal province, and Hot Thu, a 43-year-old man in Spean Dek village, Prek Tonlarb commune, Leuk Dek district, Kandal province. The two "businessmen" were made to sign a contract with police promising not to resort to the same tricks again.
