US Man, MATTHEW DAVID SAMPLE, in Major Meth Bust in Phnom Penh

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Wanted to add that the US Embassy was actually pretty helpful but asked strange questions. When i was inquiring where he was. They wanted to confirm I was a US citizen and then asked why i wanted to know.

Like wtf. I said if you had a friend in prison, you wouldnt want to see him or whatever lol.. obv things are done differently here or its something i am unaware of.

Matt also said the embassy has something set up w/ an account. I would have to contact them again and get that info

Very cool. What was the total cost of your visit there?

He should learn to read slower, that's all he's going to have to read for the next 30 years
I can appreciate sarcasm and humor but you wouldn't find it so funny if was someone you cared about / friend. Or if was you in there

I wouldn't ever be in there because I wouldn't sell tikkaw in a country that promises life sentences for those who traffick in hard drugs...no sympathy for this loser, his whole life is a comedy now

It wasn't sarcasm or humour, it was truth. Once you get caught with a kilo or more of the super naughty stuff, you seem to be gifted free housing and food for 30 years in Cambodia's finest dwellings.

I've visited a dude once here before at Prey Sar Prison. I did a brief write up of what visitors should expect and what to and what not to bring with them :thumb:

nobody asking for your fucking sympathy. i was sharing my experience about a friend and some may know him in this forum. You decided to add your harsh comments.

It reminds me of when someone who is homophobic and against gay people... then have a child who is gay. then they change their perspective

anyway i wasn't fishing for sympathy. shit happens. people make bad decisions multipe times. it is what it is.
