3 Foreigners Injured in Phone Charger Hotel Fire

Cambodia News, (Banteay Meanchey Province): Three foreigners were injured in a fire which broke out at 5:20 pm on August 3, 2023. on the 9th floor of the International Hotel, Room 901, located in Kbal Spean 1 Village, Sangkat O'Chrov, Poipet City.

According to the report, the three victims were Indonesian nationals, one man and two women. The most seriously injured was the Indonesian man who was treated at Sok Visal Clinic, but his days are not in danger.

A preliminary investigation by police supports the theory that the fire was caused by charging a telephone, and leaving it on the mattress, where it overheated and caught fire. There was damage to property, including 2 mattresses, 2 bunk beds, 2 wardrobes and some other small items.

The fire team from Poipet Police Inspecterate came to the rescue rapidly and prevented the fire from spreading; it was extinguished by 18:15 that evening.
