Flooding reports coming in from Kampot: 2 Women Dead

Social media users say that extremely heavy downpours is causing flooding in the town of Kampot, over and above the usual rainy season watering. Unfortunately, reports of fatalities linked to the extreme weather are also coming in.
Posted 20 minutes ago: 2 Woman are reported dead and a man is missing at Omal Waterfall site.
Kampot Province: Police in Kampot province say that two women died and another man went missing on the night of July 29, 2023, while they were camping around Omal Waterfall in Kampot province. Heavy rain and strong winds reportedly blew them down into the ravine.
The police and the rescue team intervened to find the victims, but, at 11am on July 30, 2023, the police and the rescue team found the bodies of two women trapped in the tent, while another man is still missing and his fate is still unknown; the search is continuing by the joint police force and the rescue team. Other people at the site have been taken to safety.

UPDATE: Missing young woman’s body found in Kampot
The body of a young woman, who was swept away when a torrential flood engulfed her campsite – killing one of her companions, has been found
Major General Mao Chanthurith, who led the search operation, said: “After four days of searching, the bodies of the victims have now been found at a distance. More than 200 meters from the scene.
The tragedy happened when floodwaters from O’Mal waterfall adjacent to their campsite washed away tents early Saturday morning near Mak Brang commune, Toek Chhou district in Kampot province.
The missing woman has been named as Phorn Srey Khouch, 19.
The deceased woman was identified as Ken Srey Ratna, 19, from Svay Khom village, Bati district in Takeo province.
Two men in the group of four campers survived the floodwaters, Song Tim Thon, 23, and and Seiha, 22. All four victims were friends who came from Svay Khom village.
