Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Cambodia News(Phnom Penh): Vehicles travelling along the Phnom Penh riverfront area at night are often driving too fast along that straight stretch of road where there are no traffic lights. At 1:30am, on 5 July 2023, a foreign man lost control of his Toyota Fortuner car and collided with a parked vehicle on the riverside in Daun Penh district, inflicting severe damage to both cars.

According to sources at the scene, prior to the accident a man driving a black Hyundai Stargazer car, (Phnom Penh 2BU-6030), had parked on Sisowath Quay near the river, when a Fortuner car (Phnom Penh 2AL-6339), driven by a drunk foreigner, arrived on the riverfront travelling at high speed. The driver appeared to lose control of his vehicle, suddenly steering to the right and crashing into the back of the parked Stargazer. Both vehicles took a hit from the crash, but fortunately, nobody was injured.

As a result, the foreign driver who caused the accident agreed to pay $5000 in compensation to the owner of the other car to settle the matter between them.
