Even if these particular drone sightings turn out to be nothing nefarious, I think it's quite obvious that it is only a matter of time before drones are used in deadly terrorist acts. It wouldn't seem too difficult to get one intentionally sucked into a jet engine of a plane near an airport. As the drones get more powerful, it doesn't seem far fetched to attach some explosives embedded with shrapnel to some drones and fly them at the US White House or at any crowd of people gathered anywhere. My bet would be such things have already been tried. How long before such a plot is shockingly successful? Who will be the likely target? Sporting events in open-topped arenas? World leaders? It seems inevitable, to me. This year would be my guess.
