Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On July 5, 2023, at 4:30 pm, in Preah Theat village, Sangkat Rlous, Khan Dangkor, Phnom Penh, an unidentified woman was left to die on the roadside on Street 104, after she was hit by a car with a driver who has yet to be identified by police.

The woman's body was first held for a post-mortem examination, and is subsequently being kept at Sampov Meas pagoda awaiting the arrival of her relatives. The authorities continue to search for the hit-and-run driver.

A friend of mine lost his16 y.o niece in a similar accident (in France), it took 4 years to catch the perp, happened 2 weeks ago.
Turns out it was a 24 y.o who did it by driving recklessly, he confessed to 4 of his friends at the time (2019), one of them reported to the police lately after watching a tv show about cold cases, in which the parents of the victim called for any witness to bring some info. They were so emotional that this one guy watching couldn't hold it anymore, report, arrest.

I hope the family will get faster results.

One would hope that a little more evidence would be needed for a conviction. How did this play out in court?

Usually it takes more than two weeks to finish the court process ...
