Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: According to the report, last night at 9:10 pm, June 27, 2023, one of two men suspected of phone-snatching was chased down by Phnom Penh Municipal Police and was arrested immediately near the second power plant along National Road 2 in Khan Meanchey.


According to a source from the Phnom Penh Municipal Police, before the incident, the police were patroling along Street 310 in Khan Boeung Keng Kang, they suddenly saw two suspects on a black Honda Dream 2022 motorcycle (with license plate number Banteay Meanchey 1Y-1073) snatching a mobile phone from a man who was walking on the street .

The suspect then increased the speed to escape from the scene, but they were immediately chased and captured by the police on a motorcycle. The passenger who was holding the mobile phone then jumped off the motorcycle and escaped into the river, while police detained the driver and took him to the station.

The driver, named Khos Pov, 38 years old, with a false occupation, confessed to taking part in the robbery, but he said that he is just a motodup, and the other man told him "You don't have to do anything, just drive. I will sit at the back and snatch the telephone."

After the incident, the suspect was sent to the Office of Minor Crimes of the Capital Police, Phnom Penh, for a full interrogation.
