Psychedelic Cambodian Surf Music - WTF ???

Have questions or resources regarding Khmer Culture? This forum is all about the Kingdom of Cambodia's culture. Khmer language, Cambodian weddings, French influence, Cambodian architecture, Cambodian politics, Khmer customs, etc? This is the place. Living in Cambodia can cause you to experience a whole new level of culture shock, so feel free to talk about all things related to the Khmer people, and their traditions. And if you want something in Khmer script translated into English, you will probably find what you need.

MekongMouse gets it. Pre-75 Cambodia was a vibrant music scene. The golden age of a truly artistic and indiginous pop form. No original master recordings survived the holocaust. And only a handful of artists. The only recordings in existence are salvaged from copies of copieS of copies. Dengue Fever has done some wonderful covers of songs every Khmer knows by heart. Oftentimes they sound more like the 60s music than the modern cambodian produced music.
