"My name is Ned Kelly, but people call me One-Hour Photo. I've got some hazardous chemicals. Drive around to the window."
That's just a lyric by some guys I knew in some band, but it's funny. I just wish I knew what it meant. I was never much of one for poetry.
I live in Hanoi. Oh wait, I'm packing my shit up right now, today, and coming back to Phnom Penh because it sucks here. It is the opposite of Phnom Penh. In nearly every way. If PP isn't your cup of TT then you should see see Hanoi ci-ty. And please do it A-S - A - P ... because you probably suck too and I don't want you in my town when I get there. Hypothetical Hanoi loving motherfuckers.
I spent about 2 years exactly in PP then came here and was here about 2 months exactly and things weren't going as planned because they weren't fucking going anywhere. At all. Hanoi is about as exciting as whatever you find 45 minutes outside of Columbus, Ohio in any direction. [Columbus - 45] would be the math equation for that homogeneous mixture of boredom. decay, and apathy. Like Columbus, but 45 worse than that somehow. That's Hanoi. Plus, it's full of Vietnamese. But I'll let our good friend Sam Rainsy fill you in on that shit some other time. All I gotta say is that I'm spending the next few days in HCMC and I hope it redeems the country a little for me or else I think history's verdict on the Vietnam war will still be that it was a terrible idea for a number of reasons but even Vietnamese historians will probably concede that the Christmas '72 bombing of Hanoi (120 or so B-52 bombers laying some carpet down on the tile in a last ditch attempt to win or just a big fuck you to Uncle Ho, hard to say since I'm not gonna look it up right now) was ultimately justified and the real tragedy was the city was left standing and I was therefore left standing in it all those years later.
Oh, I don't know if the creation of this board is a big anti-440 thing, but I'm occasionally hired to write for their front page and I do so gladly. Never had a serious beef with the proprietor though he did ban me for a month once so I can see how some of ya'll might want a more open place for discussion with fewer trolls. Or maybe you are the trolls and I'm walking into your goddamned trap. Well, watch out, I ain't no billy goat and this ain't no bridge. I don't post at 440 much anymore because I saw the same arguments or debates too many times and I go by my real name, always. It keeps me in check, a little bit. Anonymity does terrible things to people's souls apparently because humanity behaves horrendously when it's granted to them. So I'm standing here throwing the dice every time I argue with some unknown individual. Could be my boss, if I had one. Could be a guy who expatriated to Cambodia because his family was trying to have him committed as a paranoid-schizophrenic. Anybody. An ex-convict , even! Perish the fucking thought.
OK. That's my Self. If your board ends up having classifieds for buy & sell various electronics etcetera then I shall certainly make use of them should they prove effective in reaching people. That's the most I can guarantee you today.

Ha! Hey buddy! Really glad to have you on here! And was thrilled to hear you're headed back to Phnom Penh!The_Notorious_N.E.D. wrote:

Fair question!The_Notorious_N.E.D. wrote:

No, not at all! We have nothing but love for all the other Cambodian forums. All of them.
We just felt like doing our own thing finally, maybe for a few of the reasons you mentioned.
And as you know, I have been a mega-poster over on K440 and I'm very good friends with almost everyone over there, so this is definitely not an anti-anything.
We are perfectly fine with our posters going wherever they want on the world wide web.
Now everybody has a new choice! Nothing wrong with that.
Also, anyone can sign up and post with whatever name they want, new or old.
The only thing we will change is if someone random signs up with an old username that somebody else has been using on other Cambodian forums. If that happens, we will give the original poster their old username.
And to avoid someone taking your old username (talking to everyone, not you specifically, Ned), feel free to sign up with your old username just so nobody else can sign up and use it.
But again, feel free to post with whatever name you want!

Re: Introduce Yourself
well said GM
Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticise them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes

I did notice that a poster mentioned this site on a K440 thread. The post didn't last long.General Mackevili wrote:Fair question!The_Notorious_N.E.D. wrote:
