For Americans, go to American embassy . You have to make an appointment online before to schedule Go go into the embassy and sign an affidavit stating your telling the truth . Give them your documents stating your pension---- or bank statements how much you have n the bank ...I think they will accepy a low balance ammount. You will leave the embassy with one trip all done That's it . Go to Kim in phnom penh or consult agency in siem reap . Hand them you papers from the Embassy , they will send it in and it should take 2 weeks for passport come back with new visa ...can't remember price but it was norm around 300 for a year . I beleive auto extension second year too but not sure

That's interesting, I thought the US Embassy won't write these letters.

Maybe they have changed their practices.

stopped issuing those letters years ago, messed up lots of Americans here that used them to get their retirement extensions.

You will need to apply and provide the same supporting documentation every year until you reach 55 yrs old, not automatic extension.
