Foreigner in Tuktuk Attacked by Teenage Phone Snatchers

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): Two male suspects who snatched a mobile phone from a Chinese man in a tuktuk were arrested today, on June 13, 2023, by the Criminal Police Department in Phnom Penh, according to Brigadier General But Vannarath. The phone snatching occured on 10 June at 21:15, when the two teenagers drove up on their motorcycle, level with the Chinese man riding in a tuktuk. The motorbike passenger snatched the phone out of the hands of the Chinese man, and then drove off at high speed.

The two youths, who are both unemployed, were arrested at Khan Russey Keo, Phnom Penh.
They are
1. Name: Phorn Sophanit, Male, 17 years old, Nationality Khmer (Snatcher)
2. Name: Yoeun Ratana, Male, 16 years old, Nationality: Khmer (Driver)

Items confiscated by police:
1. Black HONDA-SCOOPY motorcycle with license plate Phnom Penh 1JO-2976 (belonging to the suspects)
2. White I-PHONE13 Promax mobile phone (belonging to the victim).
The Chinese man was grateful when he was notified that his phone had been recovered by the police.
