Internet ISP

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Internet ISP

Post by DavidFieldman »

Hello,

I am having grief with the Internet in my apartment building in the Russian Market.

Despite the landlady/owner changing the provider twice, the Internet works perhaps 60% of the time. Can anyone suggest a stable ISP 24/7 and recommend the available packages?

Many thanks

Get a Smart @Home box from Smart, works out of the box & minimal fuss.

If your phone has a mobile hotspot and you get a good phone signal that can be better than a lot of the internet provided here (assuming you just do normal online stuff)

Great suggestion.
Thanks.
I do this also by the way, and I find an Android device superior for tethering as it has an option to just stay on all the time. Apple is so sophisticated that it turns itself off when you're not using it, which is a royal pain in the butt when you just want to use it infrequently. I use a cheap old Oppo for that, really good backup if you have any EDC power cuts etc also.
