Maybe this is linked to the case with the three women who were busted with 150kgs of meth, but who look like they have a remaining IQ of 30.3, shared between them ?

Does anybody have an official explanation for why they pixelate criminals' faces?

It seems to be a somewhat random policy

I get that, but it's not applied universally, very randomly.

Until around 2017 nothing was pixelated or blurred

It began as a pushback against gore/injuries and images of mutilated bodies from RTA's being published but seems to have crept to include faces in recent years

Considering the lack of ethics journalists are globally known for combined with the brand of extortion they practice locally, I'd suggest they are taking money to blur out some individuals faces but not others

"Negotiations" are ongoing.

Pixelation? Great. 6,99 thanks.

Pixel... Oh dear. This one's on the house.

They looked prepubescent (say that with a mouthful of mashed potato) in the first pic.

Can you buy Chinese tea, anymore. Maybe it's the street talk for crystal.

"Wanna partea?"
"How matcha?"
"Fiftea"
"Steep!"
"So move oolong"
"I just chamomile!"
"Chai later"
"Qualitea?"
"Brewtiful"
"Tapiokay"
"I'm no mug. It's short! You mocha me mad!"
" Sorry, don't speak coffee. Sip happens. Catch ya latte, Joe."
"Ah fucks!"
