Cooling rooftop paint
Re: Cooling rooftop paint
It's a tiled roof but it's in a borey so we're not allowed to repaint it from the dark blue-grey that the higher ups chose for everyone. I think insulation is my best bet at this point.
Scarier than malaria.

Re: Cooling rooftop paint
Hint , hint
Install foil backed insulation board under the roof .
Put it in the attic or just glue it up to the ceiling

Re: Cooling rooftop paint
Maybe something to think about are just solar panels to supplement the electricity bill!
Re: Cooling rooftop paint
Covering as much of the roof as possible with solar panels reduces heat build up in the roof materials and also lowers or eliminates your electricity bill.techietraveller84 wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 12:29 pm Maybe something to think about are just solar panels to supplement the electricity bill!
Accessibility for routine cleaning might be an issue and initial costs but it would certainly kill 2 birds with one stone.

This is something I use for my own houses it’s simple to install and highly effective. Simply lay them over the inside of your ceiling ceilings by accessing the manhole.

From when we were checking this at work with a reputable supplier, it seems it is quite difficult here to blend the solar supply in with the EdC supply, it seems it only really works as a stand-alone system with specific appliances/storage connected to it. Also, before you go covering your roof with panels, the loading works out at up to 14kg per sqm. On a standard plot of 20x5 that means you're plonking nearly a ton and a half on your roof.IraHayes wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 12:55 pmCovering as much of the roof as possible with solar panels reduces heat build up in the roof materials and also lowers or eliminates your electricity bill.techietraveller84 wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 12:29 pm Maybe something to think about are just solar panels to supplement the electricity bill!

Re: Cooling rooftop paint
Maybe Thailand could be a future producer of hemp-based insulation (using the residues of the actual hemp boom).
Cant upload pics for the moment beeing. Search it in the web.
