Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: According to a source from the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, a beautiful woman who sells cosmetic products online was arrested on May 18, 2023, but so far the judge has not decided whether or not to release the woman on bail.


Nhim Sok Leng, 27 years old, living in Borey Peng Huoth, Sangkat Khan Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh was arrested by the Phnom Penh Municipal Police on May 18, 2023 and will be sent to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for questioning in connection with a case of public insult, intentional violence and housing violation, allegedly committed on May 16, 2023, in Phnom Penh.

Authorities arrested the woman following a complaint filed by her ex-mother-in-law for public insult, intentional violence, and trespassing.

Regarding this case, Mr. Plang Sophal, spokesman for the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, has not yet answered the questions asked by the media about this matter.

@newkidontheblock Did you read that this woman is an "online cosmetic seller" ? A lot of cosmetics sold online in Asia are some sort of skin-whitening creams. Many of these online beauty products contain bleach and other chemicals, and technically, they are illegal, but it is not suprising that this Khmer woman posts photos where she appears to be even whiter than a European woman.

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): According to a source from the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, the investigating judge has decided not to detain a beautiful woman named Nhim Sok Leng, who sells products online, who was arrested on charges relating to public insult, intentional violence and housing abuse, following a complaint by her ex-mother-in-law. Instead, Judge Ket Socheat decided to release Nhim Sok Leng under judicial supervision.

It has been noted that it is very unusual for someone to intervene to release a beautiful woman named Nhim Sok Leng.(sic) Plang Sophal, spokesman for the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, confirmed on May 19, 2023, that "The prosecution has opened an investigation into the case, asking the judge to first establish if there is proof of a criminal act", but could not be reached for further comment by telephone or message.

Nhim Sok Leng, 27 years old, was arrested by police and sent before the judge on 18 May, following a complaint from her ex-mother-in-law alleging public insult, intentional violence, and burglary, in Phnom Penh on May 16, 2023.
