Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): A woman was found beaten to death on May 16, 2023 at a campsite located under a tree along Prey Sar Road, Prey Sar West Village,Phnom Penh. The victim, who has not yet been identified, was a dark-skinned female, with curly hair, about 40 years old.
The details of the case are not clear, but preliminary information on the case indicates that the deceased woman was beaten to death in her sleep by another woman, aged about 50, who has been living at the site for quite some time and is believed to suffer from major mental health problems.


After the police forces of Sangkat Prey Sar were informed of the death by the roadside, they cordoned off the area where the body was found, and the specialized force of Dangkor District and the technical forensic office of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police went to examine the body and the evidence at the crime scene.
Police have since confirmed that this is a murder case, and that they have detained the woman living at the site for questioning at the Prey Sar police station.
