Phone Snatching Attack Causes Accident for Women and Children

Cambodia News (Takeo): On Tuesday, 18 April 2023, at 3pm, there was a case of phone theft with aggravating circumstances in Ang Tnaot Khang Lech village, in which 2 youths riding a pink and white motorcycle without a license plate, and armed with a farm knife, tried to rob two women and children.

The suspects were:
1- 18 years old Mam Sok, alias Keo, from Sek Ya Village, Ang Tasom Commune.
2- 17 years old Thorn Liza from Ang Tnaot East Village, Ang Tasom Commune.

The thieves rode up to the victims, but were unable to snatch the phones of two women, who were riding on a motorcycle with two small children from Ang Ta Som Market. When the victims resisted, their motorbike fell over and crashed, and the thieves drove off.
The four victims are as follows:
1- Chet Srey Neang, female, 25 years old, living in Ta Som Village, Samrong Commune.
2- Roeun Chamroeun, a 25-year-old female also from Ta Som village, and two children.

The women then telephoned the authorities, who intervened by detaining the two suspects at nearby Sek Ya village, Ang Ta Som commune, and seized their motorcycle and the knife.
Under interrogation by local police, the two youths admitted that they had attacked the motorcycle in this case, as well as five other cases of armed phone snatching.

There was a horrific incident not that long ago where two little wastes snatched a bag and somebodies young daughter got pulled off the bike with it and directly under the tyres of a loaded 18 wheeler
