Is Kampot Town Turning into a Red Light District ?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. In reality it's a mix of businesses in the center of town.

Some bars provide only beer and music and have no ' working girls' . Sprinkled about are ' lady bars'. Some also provide food.

Motorbike rentals, straight restaurants and supermarkets also feature in the mix.

It's a great mix with something for everyone.

The ' girly bars ' provide employment and much of the money earned goes back to the villages to support children and elderly parents. These bars only make many people happy. Including me!!!!!!!

I often wonder what Cambodia would look like touristwise if there be no casinos, no girlie bars and beer prices starting 5$ a pop.

well Angkor Wat would always have tourists flying in and than flying out and Kep of course would stay busy on weekends and holidays.
Phnon Pehn would still be a city for the Chinese to laundry their $$ in Malls & condos

rest of the country would revert to pre KR times

That said, nobody needs to see a picture of 17 fat alcoholic light fingered, toothy, 40 something, pot bellied, grizzled, veteran "hostesses" squinting at the camera in front of "sweethearts" bar while they are scrolling their FB Feed over cornflakes at 7am
