Re: Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info
There have been problems with Russians so I expect the authorities want to cut them back down to 30 days. They would not want to single them out for political reasons, so back to 30 days for all on the list.PSD-Kiwi wrote: ↑Sat Apr 01, 2023 12:19 pm 45 day visa waiver finished, back to 30 days on arrival

In any case the best tourists for Thailand are the falangs with high spending power who rarely need more than 30 days.
Meanwhile the Chinese are returning to some extent and the authorities are trying to address the zero dollar problem.
Northern hemisphere falang numbers will drop off as their summer arrives so Thailand will have to move down the quality scale until next winter.
Expect PR releases to concentrate more on visitor numbers than on spending totals.

Nope, the real problem with the Russians is that they can do unlimited border runs by land, due to a bilateral agreement. This change will affect them the least. 45+30 days before, 30+30 days now, in perpetuity.armchairlawyer wrote: ↑Sat Apr 01, 2023 3:40 pm There have been problems with Russians so I expect the authorities want to cut them back down to 30 days. I think it's simply a case of having seen that the rebound is robust enough. Most real tourists cannot stay anywhere near that long anyway.

No surprises here. Airlines have come back to tell the Minister of Tourism that they won’t add an additional fee for certain groups of passengers.
BANGKOK POST: Tourism operators are calling for clearer measures regarding the 300-baht tourism fee after the tourism and sports minister said levy collection will be delayed from June to September because of issues with its implementation
