This country has my head in a perpetual spin. Weren't they asking for USD 800,000 from Thailand for transmission rights just recently?

I think 'sports information' means the results of the matches, and other match related data, not the actual matches.

Cambodia to provide free SEA Games broadcast rights

PHNOM PENH, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia is to provide free-of-charge live broadcast rights to local and overseas TV networks for the upcoming 32nd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games and the 12th ASEAN Para Games.

"The royal government decided not to charge for the Games broadcast rights for both local and foreign TVs," the Cambodia SEA Games Organizing Committee (CAMSOC) said in a statement.

The government will also give free admission to both local and overseas spectators, including opening and closing ceremonies as well as all competition events, the statement added.

The move was made during a cabinet meeting under the presidency of Prime Minister Samdech Samdech Techo HE, it said.

Cambodia will host the SEA Games for the first time in 64 years from May 5 to 17. The Morodok Techo National Stadium in a northern suburb of the capital Phnom Penh will be the centerpiece venue for official opening and closing ceremonies, and tournaments.

The Games will see athletes competing in 37 sports of more than 600 disciplines, according to CAMSOC.

Cambodia will also host the 12th ASEAN Para Games from June 3 to 9. ■

The decision to extend the offer of free tickets to foreign visitors came Friday during discussions at a plenary session of the Council of Ministers chaired by Prime Minister

“Both Cambodians and foreigners are allowed to obtain free tickets and attend the opening and closing ceremonies and all sports events of the 32nd SEA Games and the 12th ASEAN Para Games,” Gen Banh said.

He added that everyone who had bought tickets already will be refunded.

to me free entry means free entry>

BUT i do wonder if this is for ONLY general admission (and possible limited numbers) as surely the tickets OUT of the sun will cost and they just forgot to mention this

If not, great opportunity for the locals to hob nob with the rich and famous :stir:

Or will massive amounts of good seats be reserved?

I too would like to know, i cant find any info on where to book/get tickets.
